Welcome to Beachcomber Holiday Units!

Our story is as unique as our journey to creating this special place. In 2015, we – Marty and Rebecca – bought Beachcomber Holiday Units, a run-down property in need of a lot of love and hard work. We saw potential in its location and charm, and decided to take a leap of faith. With no prior experience in the accommodation industry, we embarked on this adventure, learning everything by trial and error.

But let’s rewind a bit. Marty and Rebecca’s paths first crossed in the most unexpected place – the circus! Marty was a clown, and Rebecca performed a variety of acts, from bubbles and lyra to a fantail pigeon act, ringmaster duties, clowning, skipping, and magic. After leaving the circus, we traveled with Monster Trucks, warming up crowds before shows. Eventually, we settled in Sydney, where Marty worked as a truck driver and Rebecca managed a company teaching gymnastics in primary schools, as well as handling food and beverage at the Sydney Regatta Center and Whitewater Stadium.

When we decided to invest in property, we found Beachcomber Holiday Units in Lakes Entrance, priced similarly to an investment property in Sydney. Rebecca, originally from East Gippsland, was thrilled to be closer to family, while Marty, originally from England, found the sea change enticing. Some of Marty’s family, previously based in Sydney, have since moved to Lakes Entrance as well.

Over the years, we’ve transformed Beachcomber from a tired property into modern, comfortable units. During COVID, we undertook extensive renovations, turning units 3 and 4 into spacious 3-bedroom self-contained havens, perfect for families or groups. Every unit has been lovingly updated to ensure a clean, comfortable retreat for our guests.

Our goal is simple: we want people to holiday in Lakes Entrance, not just use it as a stopover. This picturesque, adventurous region has so much to offer, and we’re passionate about making Lakes Entrance the destination. We aim to keep our prices affordable for families while providing a clean, comfortable home away from home.
