You can get a taste of the pastoral history of Kinchega National Park by staying overnightat KinchegaShearers Quarters.The shearers quarters was home to the men who worked at the woolshed. In 1883 Kinchega station comprised over 492,000ha and ran 143,000 sheep imagine how long it would take to shear all of them.
Today the shearers quarters offers basic accommodation in a heritage building, so its a good alternative to camping, especially if you are visiting the park in winter. Its nearby tothe Old Kinchega Woolshed, the Darling river and the historic ruins ofold Kinchega Homestead, so is a great place to base yourself to explore the park.
